Tilbury man in court over neglect of ponies

A TILBURY man faces several charges in reality to ill-treatment of ponies.

Mitchell Buckley, aged 31, of Feenan Highway, Tilbury has been charged with the following.

Between 08/02/2018 and 01/03/2018 at Tilbury did not take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to ensure that the needs of an animal for which you were responsible, namely two equines identified as black male pony with small white marking on head and black mare cob type pony with white face and sock markings were met to the extent required by good practice in that you failed to meet their need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury or disease by failing to adequately investigate or address the causes of their weight loss and poor body condition.

Between 15/01/2018 and 01/03/2018 at Tilbury did not take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to ensure that the needs of an animal for which you were responsible, namely two equines identified as black male pony with small white marking on head and black mare cob type pony with white face and sock markings , were met to the extent required by good practice in that you failed to meet their need for a suitable diet..

Between 01/01/2018 and 01/03/2018 at Tilbury did not take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to ensure that the needs of an animal for which you were responsible, namely two equines identified as black male pony with small white marking on head and black mare cob type pony with white face and sock markings, were met to the extent required by good practice in that you failed to meet their need to be protected from pain, suffering or disease by failing to provide an adequate or effective parasitic worm control programme..

On 01/03/2018 at Tilbury did not take such steps as were reasonable in all the circumstances to ensure that the needs of an animal for which you were responsible, namely two equines identified as black male pony with small white marking on head and black mare cob type pony with white face and sock markings were met to the extent required by good practice in that you failed to meet their need to be provided with a suitable living environment..

All offences are contrary to section 9 and 32(2) of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
