SATURDAY March 23rd saw another great spring clean event on this occasion near the RSPB Rainham centre.

A spokesperson said: “We had 15 brilliant volunteers who picked 48 sacks of rubbish including 411 plastic single use bottles and lots of other larger items of plastic and polystyrene. We also had a gang of eager children that spent two hours sweeping up the small fragments of plastic that had previously been deposited on the footpath by extremely high tides”.
