FIRE Crews were called to reports of a fire in Sandy Lane, Chadwell St Mary.

On arrival firefighters reported that about six parked cars and some hedges were 100% alight.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and stop it spreading and extinguished it by 2.50am.

The cause of the fire has been recorded as deliberate.
