Goju Yamaguchi shine at European Karate Championships Hungary

THURROCK-based Gojo-Kai has just returned from the IKGA European Championships in Tata, Hungary. They had a squad of 12 competitors from their Grays based dojo. There were approximately 300 competitors from 11 countries, they did very well to come second on the points table to the host nation Hungary.

Results from the club:

Kata Gold:

Ethan Neale Buckley, Amy Raven, Leya Barts.

Kata Silver:

Lucas Perry, Amalia Olaru.

Kata Bronze:

Lewis Darby, Keelan Perry, Tiana Olaru.

Kumite Silver:

Lewis Darby, Leya Barts.

Kumite Bronze:

Lucas Perry, Amalia Olaru, Amy Raven, Zuzanna Zajac.

Team Kata Silver:

Sasha Edger, Amy Raven, Emma Westcott.

Total Medal Haul: 3 Golds, 5 Silver, 7 Bronze.

The European Seminar followed the Championships, five days of intense training headed by their Grand Master Goshi Yamaguchi.

One of the students graded for her Senior Blackbelt, Amy Raven (17), passed her grading examination in front the the European Grading Panel (Europes senior instructors).
