ON Thursday 3rd October Bluebird Care Thurrock & Castle Point will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support by holding their very own coffee morning as part of the annual “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” event.
Research by Macmillan revealed that in 2017 2.5 million people in the UK were living with cancer, with this figure set to rise to four million by 2030. In 2018, Macmillan research suggested that over 1,000 individuals are being diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK.
Macmillan’s first ever coffee morning took place in 1990 and since then the fundraising event has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan Cancer Support. One in every three people will face cancer and the money raised for Macmillan will make sure no one faces cancer alone.
We are inviting our customers, and everyone in our local communities to join our team for a coffee morning, dedicated to raising funds for Macmillan. We hope our event will help contribute to Macmillan’s goal of making sure no one has to face cancer alone.
Alvin Osei-Tutu, Director of Bluebird Care Thurrock & Castle Point, said:
“At Bluebird Care Thurrock & Castle Point we like to support this campaign each year, raising awareness of Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible work they do. We will be hosting our coffee morning to help Macmillan support people with cancer.

Our “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” will take place from 10 am ’till 1pm at the Shafers Centre, Tarpots, Benfleet on Thursday 3rd October.
