Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Terry Piccolo, said: “The Civic Awards are a fantastic opportunity for people to recognise someone who makes a special contribution to our borough.
“I’d like to invite everyone to think about who they find inspiring in our community. This could be an individual, community group or organisation who are involved in bringing people together through local projects or events, has contributed to a lasting sporting legacy in Thurrock or a business which has played a role in improving residents’ lives.
“I know there are outstanding local heroes all around us whose efforts deserve to be recognised, and the Thurrock Civic Awards 2020 is the perfect opportunity to highlight their achievements and collectively say ‘thank you’.”
The black-tie award ceremony taking place on Friday, 28 February 2020 at Civic Hall, Grays, is made possible through sponsorship from businesses and local partners. The main sponsor for this year’s awards is Rockfire Capital.
