Swimming: Great performances by Thurrock at Essex Winter Championships

Essex Winter Championships

THURROCK Swimming Club sent a large team to the Winter Senior Championships. The Club finished high in the rankings with many great performances. Additional county and regional times were also achieved so early on in the season.

Harrison Jarvis became county senior champion in the 200 breast with a time of 2.26. He also can 5th in the 50 breast with another best time. In the 100 breast Harrison finished 8th. Harrison achieved a PB in the 400IM finishing 3rd. Jimmy Taylor had a great weekend finishing 8th in the 400IM (PB) & 7th 200 fly. Jimmy also set best times in the 50 free, 100 fly, 200 free and 50 fly. Nikita Charykin swam extremely well finishing 5th in the 400IM, 5th 200 back and continued to set best times in the 100 IM, 200 fly, 200IM and 200 free.

Ben Minister had a great weekend setting personal best times in the 200 fly, 100 back, 200IM, 100 fly, 400IM, 50 back, 100 breast, 50 fly and 200 back. Bryony Edgings finished 7th in the Senior 400 free and 400IM with life time best times. She also set best times in the 50 fly, 100 free, 200 fly, 50 free and 200IM. Caitlin Murray set PBs in the 100 breast, 50 fly, 100IM. Ethan Martin broke 26 seconds for the first time in the 50 free. He also achieved new best times in the 50 breast, 100 fly, 50 & 200 back, 100 & 200 free. Tilly Mayes swam well in the 50 fly to finish 5th in the final and 5th in the 100 fly. Tilly also competed well in the 50 back, 50 free and 100 free. Jasmine Verlander achieved great times in the 50, 100 & 200 back. Jasmine also set PBs in the 50 free and 200IM. Colin Moghina broke the 60 sec barrier for the first time in the 100 free. He also achieved best times in the 50 free, 200IM, 200 breast, 50 back and 50 fly. Jenson Hurrell was in great form finishing 7th in the 200 back and achieved best times in the 200 fly, 50 free, 100 fly, 100 breast and 50 fly. He also broke the 30 second mark in the 50 back. Louise Webster achieved her regional time in the 200 fly and another best time in the 50 and 100 fly.

Paige Laybourne-Morris achieved her regional time in the 200 fly and set best times in the 100, 200 & 400 free, 50 free and 100 fly. Radost Milkova swam just outside of her best times in the 50 back, 100 & 200 free and 50 fly. Rebecca Honeywell also swam just outside her best in the 50 back, 100 free. Rebecca West competed in the 50 & 100 breast, 50 & 100 back and 50 fly finishing just outside of her PBs. Tami Bankole achieved a best time in the 100 fly. Madalyne Allkins set a season best in the 200 breast and also competed in the 50 & 100 breast. Matteo Castello swam well setting life time best in the 50 free, 50 breast, 200 breast , 200 IM and 100 free. Matthew Riddle swam a great 200 & 400 free, PB in the 200 IM, 50 breast and 100 free. Aiden Wood smashed his best times in the 200 free and 200 back. Henry Dean swam well considering he was unwell. He was just outside of his best in the 50 fly and 50 free. He also competed in the 100 & 200 fly. Ethan Paraiwa had a good weekend setting best times in the 50 breast, 100 back, 50 free, 50 back, 100 breast and 50 fly. Alexa Miles Stevens swam just outside of her best times in the 50 & 100 breast.
