THE BLUES indifferent form continued into the new year as they went down to a defeat against local rivals Basildon United.
A hat-trick by Adam Vyse (44, 69 and 81) and a goal by Ayomikun Odukoya (45′) secured all three points for Basildon.
Grays Athletic’s two goals came through Tony Stokes (52′ pen and 58′)
The result leaves Grays Ath in eighth place, two points off the play-offs.
They return to league action at home on Saturday against Heybridge Swifts.
