ON Monday, Stanford-le-Hope Primary School was presented with their Silver Diversity Mark by the Mayor, Councillor Terry Piccolo and Councillor Bukky Okunade.

They presented the award to Ms Joy Leader, Assistant Teacher, who has been leading on this initiative, Mr Shaun Childs, Chair of Governors, and some of the children.

The award, which is validated by Leaning Workz, recognises the strong commitment to inclusion and diversity across the school and good progress in achieving equality of educational attainment, within an ethos that promotes respect for difference across the whole school setting.

Miss Lisa Glanfield, Headteacher added ‘This is fantastic recognition for all the great work that goes on at Stanford-le-Hope Primary.’

  1. Thats all well and good but what happens when these students move up to academies in Thurrock that are becoming hot beds for evangelical christian groups who can hardly be described as diverse in their views if they continue to follow the ‘good book’
