THE organisers of the Horndon on the Hill 10K race have started to organise giving refunds to runners as the race has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The organisers have put the following message on their Facebook page.
“Thank you for your patience, we wanted to keep you all up to date with what we have been doing since the Horndon 10K cancellation.
We have been working hard on trying to reclaim some of our costs for this years event so that we could minimise the impact of the loss to our athletics club, however this has not been possible. Therefore to help to cover some of these costs, we will be offering an 80% refund of the entry fee to those entrants that wish to do so.
“We will also be offering all entrants the alternative option of no refund but to carry over their guaranteed place to the 2021 race.
“We are currently in the process of setting up the online system to enable refunds and carry overs and we will be communicating details to entrants of this process once it is complete via e-mail and social media.
In the meantime, we wish you all to stay safe and well over the coming months and we thank you for your ongoing support of our race.
