DESPITE the limitations of the lockdown, the Thurrock community can still find ways to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe day on Friday 8th May.
People in the borough are invited to decorate their house in celebration as part of the celebration which marks the day when fighting Nazi Germany came to an end in Europe in The Second World War.
There are sure to be adaptations to the normal type of celebrations given the guidelines of social distancing, but we expect people will find their own innovative ways to celebrate the day.
There is sure to be music played, drinks raised, and lots of displays along the streets and in houses.
The community spirit of the borough has shown itself time and time again since the pandemic began and it is sure to be shown once again on the anniversary of this very important day.
