c2c LAUNCHES NEW TRAIN TRAVEL APP TO HELP CUSTOMERS TRAVEL EASILY AND SAFELY
EAST London and South Essex train operator c2c has launched its new Train Travel app, allowing users to compare and buy train tickets for travel across the UK.
The new and improved app is compatible with the c2c Smartcard, enabling customers to buy tickets for their Smartcard from home and then simply collect at the gates when they start their journey. This makes buying tickets easier and helps to reduce the need for contact with other people while travelling by train.
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury, said: “Our team has been working on this new app for many months, but its launch couldn’t come at a more important time. Right now our advice to people travelling by rail is to Travel Safe, Travel Smart and Keep Apart. Thanks to the app customers have a new option to reduce their level of contact with others. Through its new features you can buy tickets, manage your Smartcard and check your journey all in one place. It gives our customers a ticket machine in their pocket.”
As the economy starts to recover and daily life begins to slowly resume, c2c has committed to a new Safer Travel Pledge to help customers travel by train with confidence. This includes running a full timetable to provide maximum capacity to support social distancing, boosting cleaning and providing hand sanitiser at its stations.
As well as easier and safer ticket purchases, the new app gives live travel information for journeys across the UK allowing users to view departures, travel updates, and station facilities. Smartcard benefits such as Automatic Delay Repay and Loyalty Points will also be automatically added to a user’s app account, giving them the freedom to manage them all in one place.
The c2c Train Travel app is available for free download now on both iOS and Android platforms.
