A COUNCIL tenant who assaulted and threatened neighbouring residents has been banned from Poole House, Chadwell St Mary.
On Friday 13 November, the original injunction that Thurrock Council had been granted against Joseph Sharpe, 26, formerly of 3 Poole House, was extended to Saturday 13 November 2021 at Basildon magistrates Court.
The injunction prevents Sharpe from entering Poole House in Godman Road, Thurrock Council’s Civic Offices in Grays, or being within the surrounding area. Sharpe is also banned from causing harassment or threatening violence to residents living in the locality of Poole House or any employee acting on behalf of the council.
He will be arrested if the injunction is breached.
Cllr Rob Gledhill, Leader of Thurrock Council and Cabinet Member for Public Protection and Anti-Social Behaviour, said: “We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour or criminal damage of any kind towards our residents or council-managed properties or threatening behaviour directed at council staff.
“Thank you to all those who worked with our Anti-Social Behaviour Team for their support which helped secure the extension to this injunction.
“I would urge residents to report anti-social behaviour by council tenants so that we can take swift and decisive action. Residents can go to thurrock.gov.uk/asb or contact the Housing Anti-Social Behaviour Team directly on email@example.com.”
The council is awaiting the outcome of a possession application for 3 Poole House, which has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
