TUESDAY 9 February is Safer Internet Day and a great time to sign up for one of the free digital skills, adult training classes available at Thurrock Adult Community College this Spring.
Digital skills are now essential at any age for living and working in today’s world whether communicating with your communities, accessing information, talking to health providers, supporting children/grandchildren, sorting your finances or problem solving. A free
‘Develop Your Digital Skills’ course for adults will support you to improve your confidence using a computer or device and learn how to stay safe online.
Twenty-two percent of Thurrock’s residents are digitally excluded. This may be because they either do not have suitable equipment, an internet connection, or do not have the skills or confidence to get online safely. The College is also running an ‘Essential Digital Skills’ course for complete beginners.
Do you know somebody who could benefit? Make a pledge this Safer Internet Day 2021 to let them know about free training available in the borough to help and support them. Any adult who receives state benefits, is on a low income and digitally excluded can apply for an equipment loan to access their courses. Email email@example.com more details.
Search for ‘digital’ from the Find A Course page at www.tacc.ac.uk to register your interest for the next start dates and improve your digital confidence in tutor-led classes with your local community.
