STUDENTS at William Edwards School, part of the South West Essex Community Education Trust, are celebrating another set of fantastic GCSE exam results today.
Due to the Government’s decision to cancel examinations again as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, results were based on teacher assessment this year. Grades were robustly assessed by teachers based on the students’ performance in mock examinations and exam board assessments as well as those attained throughout the GCSE course.
The school’s Headteacher, Simon Bell said: “All of our students have worked incredibly hard throughout this challenging period, and we feel immensely proud of them.

“In particular, I would like to thank our staff for their continuous efforts, providing support for our students and always encouraging them to strive for success no matter the circumstances.
“Even though students have faced many difficulties this year, we feel they have coped exceptionally well throughout, and their results are testament to this.
“It has been a pleasure to watch this cohort develop into strong and enthusiastic young people throughout their time at William Edwards School and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.”
