RESIDENTS at The Whitecroft Care Home, in Orsett, Essex, have enjoyed a tour of their town, pointing out places that brought back fond memories and seeing how things have changed over the years.
On a fresh and sunny morning, the minibus pulled up outside the home, ready to take residents on a mini road trip around the community. Everyone was very excited to see the surrounding villages, streets and views, both old and new.
The trip included a tour of all the small villages local to The Whitecroft, driving through scenic back lanes too.

The residents enjoyed pointing out places that reminded them of times passed, reminiscing and directing the driver to other villages that they remembered. In the bus, Rod, the driver, put on his 50 War time Greats CD, and everyone enjoyed singing along together, which resulted in lots of smiles, laughter and good spirits!
The residents remarked on how much they enjoyed the trip and look forward to being able to do it again soon.
The Whitecroft enjoy being able to offer a wide range of activities to residents at the home. The minibus tour was a great way for residents to enjoy a different kind of activity, one which helps them get to know the community in which they live and to spot familiar places. All of which encourage residents to reminisce and engage in meaningful conversations with friends.
