TO CELEBRATE the Platinum Jubilee, Ortu Corringham Primary pupils were treated to a very special appearance from Stephen Metcalfe MP and the Queen herself (… well, almost)
Corringham Primary’s very own Bev Bennett arrived at the school, with her own royal guardsman, Mr Luke Seely, to surprise the students at their jubilee street party.

The school playground was packed with students enjoying the beautiful sunshine as they met and spoke to ‘the Queen’, as well as enjoying the (real) Queen’s incredible 70 years on the throne.
Karina Garrick, Principal of Ortu Corringham Primary, said: “It is amazing that we have made history, we have been privileged to have the Queen’s guard and to see the children having so much fun and being proud to be British.”
The Jubilee party included delicious, themed food and drinks for all the students, as well as games, dancing and a speech from Stephen Metcalfe MP.
Stephen Metcalfe MP said: “For 70 years, the Queen has been dedicated to our country. She is an absolute marvel and an inspiration”.
“It has been lovely seeing all the pupils enjoying themselves on such a sunny day.”
