YESTERDAY (6th July) evening a fire broke out at the rear garages of the Old Corringham Police Station. Conservative Councillors have called on the private owner of the property to properly secure the site.
Conservative Stanford Cllr Shane Ralph said: “Action is needed to be taken by the owners or property developers to secure the site before we see bigger problems.

“The former police station backs onto flats and if the fire had spread to the main building and into the flats or the Karis May Darling centre it may have put lives or property at risk.
“The sooner the building is pulled down and redeveloped the better it will be for our area.”
