Man arrested following burglary in Stanford-le-Hope

OFFICERS investigating a burglary at Stanford-Le-Hope have arrested a man.

Officers were notified of an alarm activation at a property in High Street at around 4.30am on Friday 30 September. It was reported that the property had been broken into at the rear and an estimated £400 of food and drink taken.

Officers quickly attended and arrested a man nearby on suspicion of burglary (non-dwelling). The property was recovered.

The 37-year-old man from Grays has been released on bail until Friday 21 October.

Superintendent Tim Tubbs, West Local Policing Team, said: “Burglary is one of our force priority areas because we know it has a significant impact on the wellbeing of our victims and their quality of life. It’s our focus to drive down burglary here in the west.

“As part of that focus, we will attend all burglaries to obtain the best evidential opportunities to carry out our investigations.”
