ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A13 yesterday (Saturday).

Officers were called to the Pitsea flyover shortly before 2:30pm on Saturday, 1 July following reports of a serious collision involving one vehicle.

A passenger of the car, a 18-year-old girl sadly died at the scene. Her family are aware and will continue to receive support from specialist officers.

The other four occupants of the car remain in hospital, two of them are in a critical condition.

Police assisted colleagues in from Essex Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service and the road underneath the flyover had to be temporarily closed due to dangers around debris falling.
