Young people’s view on D-Day sought for museum exhibition

YOUNG artists, aged between five and 17 years-old, have been invited to help celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day by submitting their artwork for an upcoming special exhibition at Thurrock Museum.

It will tell the story of D-Day and the roles played by people from Thurrock and will run from 25 May until 28 June.

Ahead of the exhibition opening, a preview of its highlights will be on display in the Town Hall in Grays.

Whether it’s a painting, drawing or digital artwork, Thurrock Museum want to see young people’s creativity shine in the exhibition, which will be free to view.

For more information on the D-Day 80 activities, and information about how to have your artwork featured on a public display visit the D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations page of Thurrock Council’s website where you will find information for teachers, parents and carers about how young people can get involved and submit their artwork.

The closing date for submitting art is 25 April 2024.
