BASILDON Council has carried out 190 enforcement actions in the last six months against residents reportedly causing anti-social behaviour.
These measures include 165 formal warning letters, which are used by the local authority as the first stage in tackling complaints while also outlining what further consequences recipients will face if incidents continue.

The council also carried out two evictions and obtained four closure orders for properties – meaning anyone unless authorised by the council, is banned from entering the property for three months. Breaching the order is a criminal offence and may lead to arrest.
The local authority also secured five injunctions against individuals found to be causing persistent and disruptive anti-social behaviour.
Over the last six months, the council has also issued a notice of seeking possession or notice to quit on seven occasions, as well as obtaining four absolute possession orders and one suspended possession order.
Stats also show one community protection notice, better known as a CPN, and one community protection warning have been used during the period of January to the end of May.
Councillor Kerry Smith, Cabinet Member for Law, Order and Enforcement, said: “We’re dedicated to making Basildon a safer place to live, work and visit, which is why we’re taking a stand against anti-social behaviour.
“We won’t have the behaviour of a small minority making the lives of the majority a misery. If you’re causing a nuisance to your neighbours, you can expect a letter from the council to be landing in your letterbox – and if you still choose to not alter your behaviour, then we will use all legal powers available to us.”
The figures have been released as part of anti-social behaviour awareness week, which is being marked by a number of community safety events taking place across the borough.
Residents can meet with council officers to hear about community safety initiatives, report anti-social behaviour, ask questions and get advice, as well take advantage of some freebies available such as personal alarms.
On Friday, 4 July, it will be at the Ladygate Centre, Wickford High Street between 10am and 12-noon, before later being outside Starbucks at the Eastgate Centre, Basildon between 2pm and 4pm.
