THIS achievement reflects the league’s sustained efforts to provide a high-quality, sustainable football environment within Essex’s London Boroughs and the south and west of the county. Impressively, 81% of Alliance League member clubs now also hold England Football Accreditation, showcasing the league’s proactive support for grassroots development.

Sian Hillis, Football Development Officer at the Essex County FA, praised the league’s commitment: “The Essex Alliance League’s England Football Accreditation status reflects their proactive efforts to support and promote their progression. This milestone highlights their ongoing commitment to raising standards and delivering top-quality playing experiences across the board.”

Barry Fitzgerald, Essex Alliance League Secretary, reflected on the competition’s journey and paid tribute to a key figure in the league’s progress: “We’re really pleased to have achieved our England Football Accreditation after a lot of hard work and endeavour to support our member clubs to achieve their own accreditations.”

“This achievement recognises the continual efforts to improve the league, having only been in existence for eleven years, but having reached a number of significant landmarks in that short time. I must give a lot of thanks to the late Wayne Deller who, prior to his sad passing recently, had spent the last couple of years really helping our teams to get accredited, and his efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.”

Rob Parker, Alliance League Committee Member, added: “It’s great to see the league continuing to thrive and now reaching the point of achieving accreditation, a moment we had been pushing hard for over a period of time. We’ve never been a league to rest on its laurels and have always tried to push the bar even higher each time to ensure we are keeping abreast of the ever-changing grassroots landscape. This latest achievement provides us with the stepping stone to move forward from.”

“A big thank you to each of our clubs who played their part in us reaching the threshold for accreditation and to the excellent support of the Essex County FA’s Football Development Officers for their assistance with getting this completed.”
