THE Essex County FA are encouraging grassroots coaches to sign-up for The FA’s upcoming ‘FutureFit: Digital Conference’, designed to support the network ahead of significant changes to youth football from the 2026/27 season.
Taking place on Monday 27th April, the evening webinar (from 6:00-8:00pm) will bring together coaches, clubs and volunteers for an informative workshop covering a range of key themes relevant to the grassroots game. During the current season, The FA are hosting a series of FutureFit Digital Conferences to help prepare the football community for the introduction of a new-look youth football structure.
This session will explore the incoming changes in detail, including why they are being introduced and how coaches can best prepare. From 2026/27, updates will include revised formats across youth football, featuring 3v3, 5v5 and 7v7, alongside an evolving player pathway aimed at improving the experience for young players. The webinar will provide attendees with:
clear explanations of the upcoming changes to youth football formats
practical guidance on how clubs can prepare for the transition
information on the support, resources and tools available to grassroots clubs
insight from FA experts and examples from clubs already interacting with FutureFit
