Here are some of the events happening in Essex in July that are accessible by train:

Tiny Tales

On 8 July, head to Chelmsford Theatre for a delightful storytelling session specially designed for toddlers. Tiny Tales offers young children the chance to immerse themselves in the magic of stories, as well as a joyful, enriching experience that will leave kids giggling and eager for more stories. The session will be centred around animals and nature. This event is ideal for children aged 2 to 5, but they must always be accompanied by an adult. Ticket costs £5.00. Tendring Show

On Saturday 12 July, from 08:00 until 18:00, take a free shuttle bus from Manningtree station to reach Lawford House Park to enjoy this family event that brings together rural and urban communities in the Essex region. The event offers challenging and informative displays, an open-air shopping experience with over 200 stalls, as well as a wide range of exhibitions. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Tickets can be purchased online or on the day and are priced from £20.00 for adults and £4 for children. More information at: https://www.tendringshow.co.uk/.

The Kite Festival

Come along the Eastern Esplanade beaches in Southend and spend the day flying kites on 19 July. Take the bus number 9 from the station to the Castle and explore the first edition of the Kite festival, with a wonderful and wide selection of restaurants, Cafes, Hotels, and bars. Visitors will be joined by the Essex Police, Southend Beachcare, and Surfers Against Sewage, who will promote the safety of the city’s coast. This event starts at 11:00 and finishes at 17:00. Weather permitting, kite surfers will also be giving visitors a small lesson on the beach. Entry is free for everyone. More information at: https://www.projectsouthchurch.org.uk/.
