FOR MANY OF US, it has been a major headache as for over eighteen months, we have had to endure the major road works between junction 29 at Upminster and junction 30, Lakeside.
Some Thurrock residents will tell you of hours spent crawling towards Thurrock or stuck on the anti-clockwise lanes as they add an hour on to their journey to Stansted and beyond.
But this morning, the bollards are gone, the hard shoulder open and ahead of schedule the M25 is ready for the olympics and beyond.
But be warned. It is not a four lane race track and the gleaming new speed cameras are switched on and ready to flash.
Not that any members of the YT team have recently been on a speed awareness course in Brentwood. Oh no…..
