Thurrock 1 vs 1 Lewes
An even game at Ship Lane saw both teams come away with a point. The first half saw very few chances and the first real goalmouth action saw a penalty given after the referee adjudged that Luke Wanadio had been fouled in the box.
Thurrock captain Stuart Thurgood stepped up and sent Craig Holloway the wrong way to give the home side the lead.
The lead lasted only four minutes of the second half as a flick-on allowed Tom Murphy to run through and blast pasted Will Viner in the home side’s goal. The rest of the game saw Margate on top of the play but Thurrock create the better chances as Leroy Griffiths sliced wide from 8 yards out, followed by two chances in the last ten minutes where Charlie Stimson shot at Holloway and Sam Berry’s volley was well turned over by Holloway.
