A MAN who was arrested by a police motorcyclist in St Chads Road, Tilbury at 8.30am on December 1 will be facing a court appearance later this month on suspicion of drink-driving.

The 28 year old man from the Stanford le Hope area was on his way to work when he was stopped. He failed a roadside breath test and was arrested. He was tested at the police station and blew 57 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35mg. He will be appearing at Magistrates court in Basildon on December 20.

A police spokesman said: “There are some drivers who think they are obeying the law but are in fact breaking it by getting into their cars the morning after a night of drinking.

“Drivers need to be aware that regardless of the time of day they are caught, whether they are going to work or taking children to school, they will face the same penalties as someone who has chosen to drink heavily in a pub and driven at night.”

  1. A lot of people believe that they are Ok to drive the morning after a night time drink session, this story highlights that this is not the case, if people want to drive then the simple answer is Dont Drink, the other thing that the police need to focus on is the Drug Driving which is slowly becoming more common than Drink Driving
