THE mayor of Thurrock opened the new Tilbury Community Hub on Monday morning.
The hub at Civic Square in Tilbury is manned by a group of volunteers who give over 100 hours every week to community activities.
Councillors are also accessible at the Hub.
The Library continues to be a source of reading materials, community information and has a comprehensive computer suite.
Residents may also use phones to contact council services.
