LOCAL champions LinkUp have organised for Residents of the Tilbury Flats a Family Fun Day out at the Koala Park on Wednesday 8 April 2015
The event has been organised by flats residents with the support of local charity, One Community Development Trust. Sarah Bryant, One Community’s Chair, said: “This is the part of a 2 year project working the flats residents, thanks to a grant from money raised by HealthStrength through The Health Lottery.
About 300 residents will descend on the Koala Park which sits in the middle of the Broadway Estate in Tilbury to enjoy a day of fun with fellow residents. The event will be opened by the Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Steve Liddiard.
One Community’s Project Co-ordinator, Yewande Kannike, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for flats residents young and old to get to know each other better and enjoy some quality time together. We’re grateful to the Mayor for coming down to grace the occasion and we hope this will be the beginning of greater things in the Estate.”
