THE East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust received a call at 10.52am yesterday to a report of a man in his 20s who was in cardiac arrest in London Road, Grays.
Two ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer, and the Essex Air Ambulance attended.
They treated the man at the scene and managed to get a cardiac output from the patient.
He was taken to Queens Hospital by land ambulance in a critical condition.
The Essex Air Ambulance crew travelled in the ambulance to help treat the patient on their way to hospital.

POLICE and ambulance services were called to the Morrisons in Grays this morning after a man fell unwell.
The man will now be transported to hospital via air ambulance.
A spokesman for the police said: “Police were called by the Ambulance service at 11am following reports that a man was unwell near to Morrisons, London Road in Grays.
“Police remain at the scene waiting for the air Ambulance to land and convey the man to hospital. “
