Chafford Primary Head: “Resign!” Plead Parents

HUNDREDS of parents signed a petition demanding that the Head and Deputy Head of Chafford Hundred Primary School step down from their respective post.

In front of a stunned Full Council Meeting last night (Wednesday) parent, Mr Phillip Hyman presented the petition slamming the Head, Deputy Head and the Local Authority.

It is understood that over 150 signatures were gained in less than three hours at the School Sports Day.

Last year Chafford Hundred Primary was the only school in Thurrock to appear in the Sunday Times Top 500 List however now parents are desperately concerned that the school could be hurtling towards special measures.

Earlier this month, YourThurrock interviewed the seven former governors who resigned in protest at the “financial mismanagement and lack of consultation” that they had experienced at the school.

  1. I am a little confused over this story, surely as governors of the school they are the ones that set the budgets, as happens in the majority of cases, so who has mismanaged the budget, is it the Governors or The School? I cannot see how the governors would have not noticed things like this happening.

I am not suggesting that either party are fully responsible but there needs to be further questions asked, and as the parent governors have now resigned they cannnot now really have an imput into the why’s and where of what happened.
