TILBURY witnessed another night of violence after a man was found injured in Civic Square.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault believed to have occurred in The Anchor.
A man, believed to be 37 from London, was found injured on the ground by police officers on patrol at 1.30am in Civic Square.
He was in the company of a man and a woman who told police the man had been assaulted in the toilets at The Anchor pub.
The man was taken by ambulance to Basildon Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
He has suffered injuries to his head and face.
