20 year old Rikki Gould from Cliff Place, South Ockendon,has been charged with five motoring offences, including dangerous driving, and will be appearing at Grays Magistrates Court this afternoon (Friday, Aug 13).
He was arrested following an incident in Dock Road, Tilbury on August 13 when a car failed to stop for police and then later collided with a council grass cutting vehicle. The council worker, a 52 year old local man was taken to hospital with head injuries.
Rikki Gould has been charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, no insurance, no licence and fail to stop for police.
ORIGINAL STORY
A HIGH speed car chase ended when a car hit a council van leaving the driver with head injuries.
The incident began at 8.20 am (Thursday) when a purple Ford Escort failed to stop for the police in Dock Road, Tilbury.
The chase took the car to St Chads Road where it came into collision with a small green Thurrock Council van. The 52-year-old council driver was left with head injuries.
He was transferred to Basildon Hospital.
Two men were later arrested for failing to stop.
A 20-year-old man from South Ockendon and a 22-year-old man from Tilbury are in police custody.
