Maidenhead 0 v 2 Thurrock
Thurrock produced a dominant display to win at York Road. A chance for Fola Orinolishe in the third minute saw the winger shhot just wide and a minute later desperate defending by Jack Bradshaw denied David Bryant after Matt Bodkins excellent cross. Thurrock took the lead on 18 minutes after Leon Lalite’s shot was blocked, Bodkin then crossed and Bryant headed into the empty net. With minutes left in the half a goalmouth saw Bryant’s shot hit a Maidenhead hand and was cleared off of the line but a penalty would have been harsh.
On 48 minutes Bryant was sent clear but Chris Tardif made a smart save. A minute later kieran Knight headed Maidenhead’s first chance straight at Joe Woolley. Thurrock’s Phil Anderson was then sent off after two bookable offences in five minutes and the visitors had to play the last twenty minutes with ten men. With 8 minutes left Thurock secured the points after Bryant found Bodkin and his cross found sub Leon McKenzie who scored on his return to the club. Matt Paine’s 30 yard free kick was well saved by Tardif as the visitors got the points.
