As part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days, the Tilbury Riverside Project invited the community to join them as they discovered and celebrated the historical delights of Tilbury – for free!
Throughout the day visitors were treated to a host of guided walks, talks, wildlife trails, treasure hunts, exhibition stands and an excellent minibus tour of Tilbury Town by Peter Hewitt.
Being an official member of the Heritage Open Day also meant that free access to Tilbury Fort was granted to all lucky visitors. Bursting with history and right on our doorstep, Tilbury Fort is an astonishing treasure and one we should be very proud to have!
