Lakeside Hammers 44 – Wolverhampton Wolves 46
Elite League Semi Final, 2nd Leg : Monday 28th September 2009
Wolverhampton win 106-84 on aggregate
The Hammers bowed out of the Elite League play-offs with defeat in the second leg at the hands of Wolverhampton.
The Wolves arrived minus their Swedish stalwart Peter Karlsson, injured in the first leg a week ago. That didn’t effect their points scoring one iota though, as all the members of their team rallied around to produce a performance worthy of their lofty league position.
For the Hammers it was an evening of disappointment as they succumbed on their home circuit, facing a deficit of sixteen points from the first leg at Monmore Green with the addition of four extra points oweing to Wolves’ second place Elite League finish. The gap between the two side became even greater after the first race when Fredrik Lindgren and Nicolai Klindt romped to a 5-1 over Joonas Kylmakorpi and a fallen Lee Richardson.
