Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them after a man received stab wounds after being assaulted in Tilbury last night (saturday).
A 34-year-old man from Tilbury has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 47-year-old man, also from Tilbury, was stabbed to the back and chest.
He was taken by ambulance to Basildon Hospital where his condition is now stable.
The assault occurred outside the Anchor Pub in Civic Square just before 7pm last night. Police believe both parties had been in the pub prior to the incident outside taking place.
They are appealing for anyone with information about what happened inside the pub as well as the assault and any disturbance which may have occurred outside to contact them as soon as possible.
