Crews were called to deal with a chemical incident at a house in London Road yesterday (Tuesday) after a litre of sulphuric acid was spilled in a sink giving off toxic fumes.
The occupier of the house was attempting to unblock a sink using a powerful scouring agent.
Firefighters dealt with the spillage and then ventilated the property before leaving the scene.
