Policing in Thurrock: 2010

2009 was a very successful year for new Chief Inspector Paul Moor. Paul and his team made an clear impression in every ward in the borough. Some of it was about quashing anti-social behaviour and the series of dispersal orders and alcohol free zones in Stanford, Corringham, Grays Town Centre and South Ockendon clearly made their mark.

Lakeside saw a well-organised campaign at christmas and road operations such as Operation Utah also let criminals know that they try and ply their trade in the borough at their peril.

There was also the community side of the force with activities such as the 2smart scheme to the hard work of local constables and PCSO’s that really showed how the Thurrock police are embedded into the social culture of Thurrock.

We interviewed Chief Inspector Paul Moor to look back on the achievements of 2009 and the challenges of 2010.
