Aveley Green Belt Plans Withdrawn

AN application for 551 new homes in Aveley was withdrawn by developers just hours before a planned meeting at the Development Corporation.

The application by the Springfield Consortium is for 20 three bedroom houses, 110 four bedroom houses, 28 two bedroom houses, as well as 138 two bedroom flats and 55 one bedroom flats on green belt land off Romford Road.

The plans also included the key infrastructure requirements including shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as a surgery and space for residential parking.

Officers at Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation had recommended that the planning committee refuse the application.

The Consortium may submit another application.

YourThurrock spoke to Aveley councillor Wendy Herd outside the Development Corporation offices this afeternoon (Monday).
