ON FRIDAY it was announced that Grays Councillor Yash Gupta had been shortlisted for a “Councillor Oscar” by the Local Government Association.
The accolade is clearly richly deserved for the veteran advocate of people’s rights.
How would we describe Yash’s style (no we don’t mean the training shoes and hat!). A cross between two sayings:
“You catch more with honey than vinegar” but also: “The squeakiest wheel gets the most oil!”
When you hear the number of organisations that Yash is a member of then you get some idea of how busy he is (and why he always has his running shoes on).
We caught up with Yash between meetings and conferences (even on a saturday) to reflect upon the achievement.
