U-Turn Causes Crash at Treacle-Mine

Police are seeking information about a car and its driver that they believe was responsible for a collision involving four other vehicles.

The crash occurred at 10.10am on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 on the A 1306 at Grays, between the Treacle Mine roundabout and the Harvester.

A dark blue Vauxhall Astra or Vectra, with a male driver, travelling towards Lakeside from the Treaclemine, carried out a U-turn. This caused a collision involving a silver Ford Puma, grey Fiat Punto, white Ford Fiesta and black Renault Scenic, in which four women suffered whiplash injuries. The vauxhall did not stop.

Anyone who has information that can help identify the driver of the Vauxhall is asked to contact police at Grays on 0300 333 4444, where the officer dealing is Pc Clare Fordham.
