TO THURROCK pantomime goers everywhere, Damian Williams is a living legend but after twelve years at the Thameside, Damian was very conscious of being labelled a big fish in a small pool.
Since 2007, Damian has been extremely busy, the highlight being, taking over from Noel Edmonds to host Sky One’s “Are you smarter than your ten year old”.
With panto in Sheffield, television appearances, theatre, Damian has certainly been busy. It is interesting that three years ago, it looked like his comedy skills that harked back to music hall may not be appreciated but it seems that the reverse may be true with traditional comedy and entertainment making a comeback.
YourThurrock caught up with Damian in between shows for The Mating Game at the Cliffs Pavilion to discuss his career and his abiding love for Thurrock.
