ONCE again the Gateway Academy is a hive of activity during the Easter holidays. This easter, Year 6 and 7 students from across the east of the borough were engaged in learning through what is called the “Jump Up” system.
This involved not only extra tuition in english, maths and science but also sessions with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. A wonderful coup for the borough.
We spoke to members of the orchestra as well as teaching staff from Gateway Academy to asses the impact of the course.
