Firework Man Given Rocket By Council

A man who admitted not storing fireworks correctly has been fined and ordered to pay costs.

Keith Rose, 46, of Billericay, admitted the offences at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday last week (17 June).

He was charged with overstocking fireworks in sales area, overstocking fireworks in the whole premises (874.25kg), and storing fireworks in an incorrect manner in the sales area ― all at a shop in Dock Road, Tilbury on 5 November last year.

The magistrates fined Rose £200 on each charge, and ordered him to pay a £200 contribution towards Thurrock Council’s costs, and a victim surcharge levy of £15.
