THE Mayor of Thurrock raised over £850 for one of her mayoral charities on Thursday (25 November) evening.
Cllr Anne Cheale held a charity dinner at the Riverview Restaurant in the South Essex College’s Woodview, Grays, campus in support of the NSPCC Tilbury branch.
The meal was attended by 46 guests and over £850 was raised.
Simon Moore, the tutor who oversaw the evening, said: “The catering students who catered for the mayor ‘s charity dinner, train with enthusiasm and a commitment to become the chefs and food service personnel of the future.
“In the process they maintain the long established reputation of our department, both within the local community and also the industry at large.
“Evenings like this enable them to demonstrate to the general public their skills and abilities in producing a fine dining experience.”
