Man held for GBH after incident in Tilbury

A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a knife in public following an incident in Tilbury.

James Blakey-Campbell, 18 of St Chads Road, Tilbury, was charged on Wednesday night and appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

Police were called to St Chads Road at about 11.20am on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 after an assault in which a man received injuries to his left hand. A 28-year-old man was taken to Chelmsford’s Broomfield Hospital for surgery.

A 29-year-old woman from Tilbury, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, was bailed until March 10 pending further enquiries.
