Belhus started the South Essex District Cricket Board’s U16 indoor six a side competition at Grays School with a four-wicket victory over Thurrock on Thursday evening.

However, the evening’s top scorer was Jordan Owen of Thurrock. He made a fine undefeated 33 in a total of 65 for the loss of five wickets, two of which were taken by the highly economical Sam Hall who conceded just four runs from three tidy overs.

Daniel Dreher and Jack Panteli scored 22 and 11 respectively as Belhus reached their target relatively comfortably, finishing on 66 for two wickets.
