Police are appealing for information following a collision on the M25 on the exit from the Dartford tunnel coming in to Essex.
The right side of the tunnel is currently closed following the collision which involved a single motorcycle being ridden by a man and a woman.
Police were contacted at 12.25pm this afternoon, Friday, March 11, with reports of the bike, a black and silver Suzuki GSX, losing control.
The rider, a man in his 20s, and his pillion a woman also in her 20s received serious injuries and were taken by ambulance to Darent Valley Hospital in Kent. The woman’s condition is described a life threatening. Both are from Romford.
Motorists are advised to be aware that there will be delays from Kent in to Essex and they should plan for this. Officers also advise motorists to ensure that once they are out of the tunnel that they do not rubberneck and continue on their journey to allow a continuous flow of traffic.

Update: Further to the information about the collision on the M25. The woman’s condition is now no longer believed to be life-threatening and the road/tunnel reopened at 3.40pm.
